If you want to seem mysterious
If you want to obfuscate
If you want to be annoying
Just type in code, won't that be great?
First you take the letter "A"
Then you type it "4" instead
To me that seems fairly simple
Each has a point upon its he4d
A "B" is more or less an "8"
If you curve it out a 8it
And for "C" I'll use a cent sign
(Once I find just how to type it)
Just like in those days of yore
"1" works for the 1etter "l"
Who cares if you use "T" or "7"
They're close enough for most to 7ell
Make sure that you tap the "3" key
When in a word an "E" you meet
If you forget this basic rule
No one will ever think you're 1337
"O" and "0" are the same
"Z" is "2" and "Q" is "9"
Flip and twist the letterforms
Then squint a bit and you'll do fine
For the rest you get creative
Use brackets, carets, things like that
Just memorize the ASCII table
Then you'll have this code down pat
If you want to bug your teachers
Or make your parents cringe with shame
Just memorize this simple cipher
And if you can't, then you're t3h 14m3

If you are not familar with so-called leetspeak, here's a good resource.
I've been working a lot with letters lately, which led to the idea for this story one morning. I typed it out that night.
